Microsoft’s Xbox App Now Supports Third-Party Gaming Stores and Tools
Microsoft has begun testing a new “My apps” feature in its Xbox app for Windows, allowing users to access third-party software directly from within the app. This includes browsers, game launchers like Battle.net and GOG Galaxy, and other gaming tools. Designed with handheld devices like the ROG Ally in mind, the update offers a unified, simplified interface for navigating between apps without switching to the Windows desktop. The feature is currently in beta with a limited app selection, but Microsoft plans to expand support.
This is a significant step toward turning the Xbox app into the central hub for PC gaming on Windows.
