Apple says Trump’s tariffs to add $1.1B to costs next quarter
Apple CFO Luca Maestri confirmed the company expects $1.1 billion in additional costs in the September quarter due to new U.S. tariffs. The duties primarily target products manufactured in China, India, and Vietnam, including iPhones and Macs. In the June quarter, Apple already spent $800 million on tariffs but managed to post a 10% revenue increase to $94 billion. CEO Tim Cook emphasized the strength of Apple’s product lineup as a driver of demand, despite trade tensions.
Rising tariffs pose a growing challenge for global tech manufacturers and could accelerate supply chain shifts in the industry.
