xAI co-founders exit amid fallout from SpaceX merger
Two more co-founders of Elon Musk’s AI startup xAI have announced their departures following its recent merger with SpaceX, which reportedly valued the combined entity at $1.25 trillion. Yuhai (Tony) Wu and Jimmy Ba are among at least nine senior engineers and staff leaving the company, some of whom are now planning their own ventures. The exits come just weeks after the surprise merger, which integrates xAI with SpaceX and social media platform X.
This wave of high-profile departures raises questions about xAI’s internal stability and leadership direction at a crucial moment for AI development.
