Google’s AI Mode expands to 180 countries with enhanced task automation
Google has expanded its AI Mode in Search to 180 countries and territories, offering chatbot-style interactions in English across a broader global audience. The update introduces “agentic” features, starting with automated restaurant bookings via platforms like OpenTable, Resy, and Tock. Premium subscribers can now specify details such as date, location, and cuisine, with AI Mode surfacing available options and linking directly to booking pages. Additional features include personalized suggestions based on previous interactions and shareable search results.
This marks Google’s most significant step yet toward task-completing AI, signaling a larger industry shift from passive chatbots to goal-oriented agents.
