Apple is testing Siri upgrade to control apps via voice alone
Apple is developing a new version of Siri that will let users execute actions within apps using only voice commands. This enhanced functionality leverages an updated App Intents framework, allowing deeper integration between Siri and third-party applications. Developers will be able to expose specific app features to Siri, enabling tasks like sending messages, ordering food, or editing photos without manual input. The changes are expected to roll out gradually, starting as early as 2025.
If successful, this could position Siri as a more competitive AI assistant and reshape how users interact with apps across Apple devices.
