The deal would help solidify Microsoft’s position as OpenAI’s primary partner and supplier of computing infrastructure, while enabling OpenAI to operate more freely as a for-profit entity. Microsoft already invested over $13 billion into OpenAI and integrates its models into products like Copilot and Azure.
