Samsung signs $16.5B deal to supply AI chips to Tesla
Samsung will supply Tesla with AI chips in a new deal valued at $16.5 billion, marking one of the largest agreements of its kind. The chips will be produced using Samsung’s 4-nanometer and 2-nanometer process nodes and are expected to power Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) and AI computing platforms. This partnership strengthens Tesla’s supply chain beyond Taiwan’s TSMC, with which it already works. The chips are likely to be utilized in Tesla’s next-generation vehicles, AI infrastructure, and the robotaxi fleet expected later this decade.
This deal highlights the accelerating convergence of automotive and semiconductor industries, reinforcing AI’s central role in future mobility solutions.
